Jean is a native Coloradoan from Eagle. She has always enjoyed participating in many activities that include: camping, hiking, knitting, and reading. This is her fourth year at the Colorado School of Mines with plans to graduate the next year with a specialty in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering.
On campus Jean has been involved in Blue Key, Society of Women Engineers, a Mines Ambassador, and is a Conoco-Phillips Scholar. During the summer of 2006 Jean participated in an internship with ATK-Thiokol at their Promontory Point facility near Brigham City, Utah. Experiences with ATK were varied and included trying to improve performance on a robotic painter for the outside of the solid rocket boosters. The Utah experience also included a vicious bite from an unknown insect which left her with some reluctance to walk in the desert. Additionally, her summer allowed her to fine tune her golf game and acquire a new set of clubs.
