Cara Coad, Lecturer

Faculty Member Cara Coad joined the Division of Engineering as a Lecturer in 2005. She has over 20 years of experience in industry as a design engineer. Her area of expertise is mechanical design; particularly design of machines/products that require precise motion or positioning. She teaches Machine Design, Computer Aided Engineering, and Introduction to Robotics.

Cara Coad received her BS degree in mechanical engineering from UC Berkeley in 1982 and her MS degree in mechanical engineering from UC Berkeley in 1983. She has more than 20 years of mechanical design experience in the fields of automation, product design, and production equipment design. She has worked in a variety of industries including fiber optics/telecommunications, medical imaging and diagnostics, automation, high speed printers, consumer, agricultural, and disk drives
