Faculty Member Interest focuses on structural materials and design. Specializes in undergraduate instruction in geotechnical and structural engineering, and graduate instruction in structural engineering.

Professional experience includes ten years working as a construction engineer and ten years working as a design engineer and engineering director. Received B.S. in Civil Engineering in 1975, from Oklahoma State University, specialty water and wastewater engineering, M.S. in Civil Engineering in 1987, from Oklahoma State University, specialty geotechnical and structural engineering, and Ph.D. in Civil Engineering, specialty structural engineering, with a minor in Mechanical Engineering, specialty materials, from the University of Utah in 2001. Registered Professional Engineer in Colorado and Utah. Responsible for delivering the following classes: Mechanics of Materials, Soil Mechanics, Civil Field Session, Structural Analysis, Design of Steel Structures, Design of Reinforced Concrete Structures, Timber and Masonry Design, Advanced Design of Concrete Structures, Advanced Design of Steel Structures, and Advanced Topics in Steel Construction. Serves a faculty advisor for the American Indian Science and Engineering Society Student Chapter. Also, teaches Aikido for the Physical Education Department and serves as faculty advisor for the Mines Jujitsu Club.
