Sid Suryanarayanan's primary research interests in electric power systems are in the areas of design, operation, control, and economics of sustainable microgrids. Secondary research interests are in application of systems-based approaches to electric power markets and the relationship between climate change and the electric power industry.

Dr. Siddharth (Sid) Suryanarayanan received the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from Arizona State University in May 2004. From 2004 to 2007, Dr. Suryanarayanan held research faculty positions at Arizona State University and Florida State University where he worked on modeling custom power devices, and modeling and simulation of advanced power systems such as microgrids and the integrated power system of the US Navy’s all-electric ship (DDG1000). His research has been funded by entities like NSF, DOE, and ONR. Dr. Suryanarayanan is affiliated with the Power Systems Engineering Research Center (PSerc) at Colorado School of Mines (www.pserc.org)
