The College of Engineering and Computational Sciences (CECS) Garage is a resource for students to build, test, and document their creations. First opened in the Spring of 2014, the Garage houses equipment and trained student workers to support the research, design, and entrepreneurial activities of Mines students. Current capabilities include plastic 3D Printing, Laser Cutting/Etching, Vacuum Forming, 3D Scanning, Thermal Imaging, and Material Testing equipment. Additionally, tools, instruments, and audio/video equipment are available for student use and check-out.
The College of Engineering & Computational Sciences machine shop consists of a full-service shop that provides machining, assembly and fabrication services in support of research projects and instructional laboratories for CECS students, staff, and faculty working on CECS projects.
